Terms of Hiring to comply with Public
Entertainment Licence
BOOKINGS
Bookings should be made by the end of the previous month so
that regular users can be notified in good time.
NUMBER OF PEOPLE
The Hall licence allows for:
Maximum of 200 people standing i.e., where no seating is provided
Maximum of 132 people seated if no stage extension
Maximum of 128 people seated with stage extension
Maximum of 60 people seated on the stage
Maximum of 20 people in the Committee rooms
For public events, 1 Steward per 50 people is required
Every event must close by 1.00 am
SAFETY
All fire exits must be kept clear at all times
No smoking at all is allowed in the building
No electrical equipment other than Hall equipment can be used
Any interference with fire extinguishers, deliberate or otherwise,
to be reported to a Committee member
CHILD PROTECTION POLICY
Where applicable, the Hirer must con firm their adherence
to the Highland Council Cultural and Leisure Services Child
Protection Policy (Mamore House, Fort William, 01397 702102)
LICENCES
Where alcohol is to be sold, an Occasional Permission must
be obtained from Lochaber Council, (01397 707233) Each organisation
is allowed 4 Permissions per year
GENERAL RULES
The building must be left clean and tidy and all equipment
put away. All privately-owned dishes, tins, and food must
be removed from the kitchen
The hirer will be liable for any breakages or damage in the
Hall during their let and should report the matter to a Committee
member immediately
When leaving the Hall all lights and appliances must be switched
off and external doors locked
Keys must be returned to the Committee member
The Committee reserve the right to impose a cleaning surcharge
should the state of the Hall require it
