Welcome to Acharacle

Acharacle is an attractive village built along the south-western shore of the seventeen-mile long Loch Shiel, one of Scotland's most historic and attractive lochs. The village is a centre for the whole area, with a wide range of amenities, and is a popular tourist destination.

The Shielbridge Hall, named after the ancient bridge over the River Shiel nearby, serves Acharacle and the wider communities of Ardnamurchan, Moidart and Sunart, providing a well-equipped venue for entertainment, exhibitions, cultural activities and training sessions.

Standing close to the banks of Loch Shiel, the Hall is also an excellent venue for family events such as weddings and parties. There is ample car-parking on both sides of the Hall, and we can apply for alcoholic licences.

The Hall has full disabled access, a fully-equipped kitchen, modern toilets, a PA system, seating for one hundred and thirty, and is fully-equipped with tables, crockery and cutlery. We have enough matching tables, chairs, crockery and cutlery for 100 people.

NB We plead that no drawing pins be used on our attractive new wooden wall lining!
